According to the United States Center for Disease Control, over 135,000 Americans lost their lives as a result of accidents including car crashes and falls. Under Florida law all claims arising out of the death of an individual must be brought under Florida’s Wrongful Death Act.

 

Florida’s Wrongful Death Act allows compensation to the Estate of the victim and the victim’s survivors for:

  • Loss of earnings
  • Loss of support and services
  • Loss of net accumulations (savings)
  • Funeral and medical expenses
  • Mental anguish
  • Loss of parental companionship and guidance
